The RICHARD VISSER INSTITUTE
RVI is geared toward the education and implementation of programs within various governments.The Richard Visser Foundation’s objective is to:
- promote a healthy lifestyle in the broadest sense of the word;
- support and conduct (or have conducted) scientific research for the purpose of substantiating a sound health policy and a healthy living environment in the Caribbean
The Richard Visser Institute endeavors to achieve this objective by:
1. Implementing the "Comunidad cu Vitalidad" project, within which project healthy nutrition, physical exercise, and hygiene are stimulated and taught in all sorts of ways to promote physical and mental health within society.
2. In addition to the above, developing, introducing, applying, and evaluating study, research, and/or implementation projects contributing to the quality of life.
3. Advising and/or informing public authorities, institutions, agencies, natural persons, and legal entities active in the field of public health, food chain safety, and the living environment.
4. Exercising control over the quality of life of the residents of the Caribbean and their visitors.
5. Determining factors that are of importance to the creation and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.
6. Maintaining contact, as well as consulting - in as far as necessary - with both local and foreign agencies, institutions, and persons operating and/or active in one or more field(s) of importance to public health and the living environment.
7. Requesting, gathering, exchanging, and providing information and data relating to public health and a healthy living environment, as well as compiling, publishing, and distributing aforementioned information, or cause same to be compiled, published, and distributed, in whatever form.
8. Promoting the education of persons active in the field of public health in the broadest sense of the word, inter alias by providing education (or causing same to be provided), convening meetings (or causing same to be convened), courses, seminars, congresses, conferences, and the like, as well as activities and events.
9. Cooperating with all relevant persons, institutions, agencies, and the like, both on a (inter)regional and a (inter)national level.
10. Exchanging technical expertise in the field of health care and the living environment.
11. Establishing or guiding and participating in entities domiciled in Aruba or not, which pursue an object corresponding or beneficial to the Foundation’s object.
12. Instituting all remedies available to the Foundation.
